When will the game be released?

When its done... Even though Iritor Online is taking shape much faster then usual MMORPGs, it still takes considerable time to get a massive project like this into the release state. All we can tell you at the moment, is that the beta servers will be opened for first stress tests in the next months. The whole dev-team is highly motivated because of the impressive progress and is doing its best to open the gates to Iritor as soon as possible for all of you.

Why do you plan early stage beta testing?

Since the players are the most valuable resource in an MMORPG,  they should have the opportunity to play and form their game as early as possible.

Even the best planned game system has it flaws - many factors can only be balanced by trial and error. As long as nobody plays against the system its impossible to predict its problems. Getting players into the world as early as possible, is a goal of the highest priority.

Will there be monthly updates after you release?

Updates can be added all the time. We don't only plan to do some minor content additions, we actually plan on advancing the game seamlessly.

Will players be able to influence design decisions?

We will have daily player votes, as soon as the game is running, to get your opinion about the game. We will let players vote on changes, as well as on what kind of new content should be developed.

So, there will be updates all the time; what about server downtime during the patches?

Almost all of the patches and extensions will happen on the fly or with minor downtimes.

Why do you think your game won’t be unbalanced?

The whole game system is based on mathematical analysis. This ensures that we have only a few variables to be balanced. We are very positive that our in-depth experience of MMORPGs and the player bases cumulated knowledge (that we will incorporate through votes and surveys) will be enough to balance the system.

Class based or skill based character system?

We will have a skill based system since a class based system is very inflexible and almost impossible to balance.

Unlike the game systems in current MMORPGs, the Iritor skill system was designed under mathematical aspects to avoid typical weaknesses of skill based systems.

What kind of "classes" will exist?

As we said there will be no classes but there will be numerous roots in the skill tree to provide many different characters and gaming experiences.

Why is balance so importing in an MMORPG?

We do not agree with the "no-nerf" policies existing in other games since they ruin them. We have invested loads of time into a game system that can create items or skills which don't have to be "nerfed" or "buffed" all the time.

What about player killing in Iritor?

Iritor will not cure the problems that level based games (all MMORPGs) have with player killing, but we will ensure balance between characters on the same level.

Will it be like "Darktide" or "Rallos Zek"?

There are PK servers planned, but you will also have the opportunity to fight in arenas for money, items, titles or just for the sake of it on every server.

How big will the world be?

Original it was planed to start with a small world and extend it constantly after the first release.

In the last months it turned out that the design of the world could be completed much faster then planned, therefore it was possible to create a much bigger world then initially envisioned. At the moment it is big enough for many hundred simultaneously playing players, but should the need for a bigger world arise, it will be enlarged.

Will there be zones like in Everquest or Anarchy Online?

There won't be any noticeable zones. Iritor is a seamless world. The only transitions are between dungeons and the outside world. Switching delays are between 0 and 10 seconds, depending on the available system memory.

What about guilds and allegiances?

We want to have a community system that allows players to form temporary groups (for quests and party hunting trips) and fixed groups. The fixed group system will be the subject of a vote, as soon as we have enough participants to get a respective monitoring. Input on this matter would be helpful to get a good base for voting. Please post your views on guilds and allegiances on the dev-board.

What is DOT?

This stands for damage over time. It is the most important state for all weapons and spells. The DOT will be quantified to produce fast and weak weapons as well as some for slow heavy hitting; although two weapons that were meant to be equal, will be equal.

How many races will there be?

There will be only one race: humans. Although there are countless ways to customize your characters appearance and abilities. You can change your size, color of skin and facial features at creation. Your character can be athletic or thin, depending on your attributes. The huge pool of skills, bio- and cyberware upgrades and other equipment should allow more unique characters then in any game before.

What about cities in Iritor?

The story of the game starts some weeks after the first colonies stepped out of the cloning system. The colony has been built out of pieces of the Turigor by robots - so don't expect anything too BIG... Humanity's possibilities on Iritor are rather limited at the beginning of the story and time will show wether they are able to dominate Iritor or not. However, there are ruins of big cities  on Iritor, probably built a long time ago by some other visitors - or even the Creators themselves...
