I agree, it sounds like a rediculessly hard penalty for getting your ass blown of in a fight...

Besides, how do you borrow from future respawn-cycles? What if i only die once ever in my entire life as a colonist(as if...). Then i have no future respawn-cycle to borrow from... Will the respawner know this? Is my life predestined? Hey i know im knit-picking here, but we are disgussing penalties deduced from a single line of text on the web-site...

Maybe hampering future growth, just means that you go more and more sterile... Now a planet full of violent, sterile, death-fetichists is definatly a planet with a hampered future growth :)
